Santa María Briones

I can't say enough good things about this small boutique hotel. The design, decor, and craftsmanship throughout the property are incredible. The rooms are spacious, with large showers, comfortable beds, and high-quality sheets and towels. The breakfast was excellent, and dinner at the hotel was very good as well. They also organized a fantastic wine tasting experience for us, which was one of the highlights of our stay. The town itself is very small, with limited dining and no real shopping, but that actually adds to the charm and overall experience. It's also conveniently located near Haro and the main Rioja wine tasting area. One small detail that stood out was how great the hotel smelled throughout the property. Everything felt thoughtfully designed and well cared for. This was one of our favorite hotels of the trip.

This hotel was special. Uniquely constructed from the previous ruins, impeccably appointed in the charming village of Briones. Food was great, staff exceptional, especially Maria on the front desk (although she seemed to be everywhere!), quick to smile and always helpful. The terrace on the second floor has a marvelous view over the Rioja countryside. Highly recommended!

What a gem this hotel is! We were spending a couple days in Rio with friends, and have booked this hotel for our second night. Check-in was smooth, the staff was highly professional, friendly, and spoke perfect English. The room was truly lovely and well designed. The bedding and pillows were excellent. Everything was sparkling clean. We had dinner in the wine bar (there is also a Michelin rated restaurant) where we had light dishes and several glasses of excellent wine. The staff there were very helpful. The breakfast was all excellent, with a choice of buffet and or eggs and other things prepared in the kitchen. I look forward to returning sometime soon.
