There were some lovely touches about the general accommodation such as pretty chandeliers, nice artwork and grand mirrors.
We were in room 6 which was advertised as lacking natural light, this was fine, but the decor was so dark and such a dull lightbulb, it made the room feel so dingy. There was no plug point near the mirror, so doing hair was difficult.
On the plus side the bed was very comfortable and there was a lovely big fan in the room to help combat the heat. Also the bathroom was very nice and spacious.
Breakfast was a little disappointing, the mushrooms appeared to be tinned, the fried eggs were plonked on top of the toast rather than it being on a separate side plate and the bacon was quite fatty.
The tea wasn’t very nice and came long before the breakfast arrived so had to ask for a glass of water to have with my food.
The staff were friendly enough and check in & check out were easy.
