Best kept secret in Scotland. Karolyn and Chris were fantastic hosts. We spent 1 night here but wish we had spent the other 9 nights here as well. Beautiful property and most comfortable bedding I’ve had outside my own home (including 4-star hotels).
The breakfast was 5-star worthy. Worth the lodging price alone!!
I told them they should charge more - I will figure out how to tip them…

I travel a lot for work, and it was great to find this little hotel off the beaten track. The owners are friendly and welcoming, and the room was comfortable and well laid out, with plenty of space. I used the link in the booking confirmation to find the hotel without any trouble, but take care to follow the signs.

We just had a beautiful 1 night stay with Karolyn & Chris in a very yummy room in a quite delicious & absorbing house. The welcome (includes a chocolate), service, friendliness, the bed, the breakfast (oh yeah THE breakfast - especially the Porridge) & their 2 dogs, who are extremely friendly, after an initial bark when arriving, made the overall experience one we’ll never forget & will be telling other travellers to just book in & enjoy. The property is National Trust listed & is quietly tucked away about 2 miles from the town of “Newmachar” being 12 miles from “Aberdeen”. It was a pleasure Karolyn & Chris meeting & staying with you at “Disblair” & we wish you both every success in the future. Cheers Steve & Carina
