If you want to stay in a Hutong within Beijing, this is the perfect place. I live in China and have been to Beijing multiple times. This is the best hotel I’ve stayed in. The courtyard is incredible! The staff is welcoming and can speak English. The main road outside of the Hutong has many cafes and little shops to explore as well.

I had the absolute best stay at Happy Dragon! The first thing I must emphasise is just how wonderful and helpful all of the staff were. I would like to say a huge thank you to Lumi, Julie, Cici, Connie & Lili (if I have missed anyone I am sorry!) - you all made my stay such a special and memorable experience and started off my first ever trip to China in the most amazing way possible, so thank you all so much! Aside from the amazing staff though, the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. Waking up every morning, and coming back every evening, to the courtyard with the pagoda and the koi pond was such a surreal and special experience (make sure to ask for some fish food!). The room was exceptional - really premium finishes, very modern lighting & aircon controls and very comfortable. It was the perfect size for me as well. The breakfast had a really good range of options and the breakfast area was very quiet and comfortable. The location was great too - down one of Beijing's quaint hutongs and just a 10/15m walk to Dongsi metro station. I also got a lovely little panda gift upon departure, which was really kind and a wonderful way to end my stay! I couldn't recommend Happy Dragon enough, thank you all again!
