Liked the idea of the wagons. Beautiful sunrise , firepit etc.
It was out of Orania town, close to the main road, and the road to the wagons was not suitable for our corolla which is low. We were 2 women completely alone with no other wagons occupied and felt unsafe. We cancelled our second night and rebooked to stay in Orania for the second night.

We traveled as a group and rented out 4 wagons. Each wagon was slightly different from one another in size and bathroom facility. The linens and the beds were some of the most comfortable we experienced on our whole trip. We enjoyed the experience immensely, especially the early sunrise from the decks of each wagon. Everyone in the town stores and restaurants were extremely friendly. The bathroom is outside of the wagon area within a short walk. Bring a flashlight.
There are harmless spiders in the bathrooms, but what can you expect when you are out in the middle of the karoo? Don't let this put you off.

Our stay at Groot Gryses Adam Se Uitspanning was truly unforgettable—sleeping in the beautifully restored oxwagons without electricity or WiFi gave us a peaceful escape from everyday life. We loved the quiet, the connection with nature, and the incredible attention to historical detail. The facilities were spotless, the host warm and welcoming, and at night while we braaied under the stars, the Milky Way lit up the sky in the most magical way.
