The town is fantastic and this place feels right in the middle of it all. We loved the little balcony. There were other people in the adjacent room but they didn’t venture into the shared space so we never saw them.

Coffee machine was unnavigable for us and there really is very little in the way of kitchen equipment. Inadequate AC

Stylish apartment right in the centre of the Sassi. Everything was great and very clean. There is a common-use kitchen and a wonderful terrace on the 2nd floor. The owner is very nice and helpful. She texted us in advance and gave very clear and precise instructions, including videos showing how to get to the apt, how to open the doors, etc. We left our car at Garage Damasco (25 eur/night), but it may also be possible to find a parking spot on the street nearby. Would definitely recommend!

One thing to keep in mind is that you need to climb quite a lot of steps to reach the apartment. But that’s basically the Sassi – the whole area consists of steps :) So try not to bring very heavy luggage with you.

Very nice, clean, good sized apartment with comfortable bed. Good location ... which could be tricky to find but the manageress sent us a video of the route to take from the main square which made it simple. The kitchen on the upper floor is a highlight. It has patios on 2 sides (one large, and one small) which offer great views over Matera.

We never saw the manageress but she sent helpful details by Whatsapp, although she had to be reminded a few times. The key to get into the house from the street did not work - or at least we could not make it work. Luckily when we came back to the flat at 22:30 we were able to reach the manageress on Whatsapp and she sent us a code to open the door electronically.
