As a family with two young kids, we really liked the proximity to Morrison's and the general space offered by the property. There was even board games in the living room, which made family nights a bit more fun. There's an outdoor seating set, which was nice to utilise on rare sunny days that you enjoy in Newcastle. It also comes with all the bare kitchen essentials needed for short family stay and the dishwasher made it convenient after meals.

While the property itself was good- the hosts leave a lot to be desired. Lack of housekeeping upon check in: When we checked in, we quickly realised that the place was not cleaned and the linen not replaced after the previous guests. This made it very challenging after checking in late afternoon. There was no one we could reach out to over the phone and had to rely on messages with no prompt update provided until we escalated it to the booking.com platform. The place was not cleaned until the following morning- which meant we had to make our own arrangements for the first night. Loss of electricity during our stay: Following this, we got back one evening to no electricity at the property. After following up with the hosts, we were provided instructions on how to reset the meter. We believe that funds may have ran out on a pre-paid electricity meter. Delayed deposit refund: Lastly, two weeks after checkout, we had still not received a return of our deposit which was the timeframe provided on our booking confirmation. After following up with the hosts, we were initially told that the deposit would automatically be refunded as its as only a pre-authorisation. It was not until we made it clear that funds were debited from our card and appeared on our statement that the deposit refund was initiated. However, this was not received until a further week after it was processed (most other places we stayed at during our trip was refunded shortly after checkout).
