We were a family of 6 adults (3 couples) visiting over Easter, which also happened to be the final weekend of the ski season. The owners live on site (downstairs) and met us on arrival to give us an orientation and hand over the keys. We had been communicating with Birgit on WhatsApp prior to our arrival, so she knew exactly when we would arrive. We had the entire top floor of Haus Christa, which included 3 spacious rooms, each with its own bathroom and balcony, as well as an eat-in kitchen with a well-appointed kitchen and dining table seating at least 8. It is literally ski-in ski-out to the Campionoi lifts via a small path down the side of the property, which we did not discover until our second day there, but was a game-changer once we worked out this shortcut. It is within easy walking distance of excellent bars, restaurants, ski schools/ski hire, and the ski-bus that takes you to the neighbouring towns. The restaurant at the Freina Hotel is basically a 2-minute walk away for fantastic Tyrolean-Italian-Austrian cuisine, and the huge La Stua apres-ski bar is right at the end of the street. Birgit, our host, was very approachable, and if we had any questions, the easiest way to communicate was through WhatsApp. She speaks German, Italian and some English. After registration, she will give you the ski bus pass, included in the 2.70 Euros tourist levy (paid in cash on site).

Like any ski village, the smaller roads are harder to navigate, and Google Maps isn't always the most accurate. We bookmarked "Haus Christa", which got us very close. Fortunately, the hosts sent us a short video before our arrival with instructions on how to find them in case we got lost. There is no washing machine or dryer; however, there is a clothesline on each balcony and electric towel warmers. For our stay, breakfast was not included. The owners provided teabags, but you should bring your own coffee or pick up some milk and coffee grounds from the nearby supermarkets. The kitchen has a drip filter coffee maker and a Moka pot. You can easily pick up milk, bread, eggs, cheese, meats, freshly squeezed OJ, etc. from the DESPAR supermarket at the Valgardena Centre, which is about a 7 min walk (once you work out the shortcuts) or a 12 min walk if you walk along the main roads. Shampoo or conditioner is not provided, so bring your own or pick some up at the supermarket.
