Staff were friendly. The room was a good size. Plenty of hot water and good size bath. Plenty of Internet. Although away from the centre the neighbourhood is well provided with cafes shops etc

Decor and furniture were a bit dated. Similarly stair carpets worn through.

Ideal location for the trade show - classic French 'coffee & croissant' breakfast was ideal - warmed milk for the coffee made a real difference :)

Shower head had no wall mounting - meaning I had to kneel in the bath and try to shower while holding the shower head... not really convenient - takes 5 minutes to screw a bracket into the wall and put a shower curtain up...

The hotel is just a few minutes away from the metro station, there are 2 supermarkets almost next to the building, there are many cafés and bakeries in the neighbourhood that feels safe and clean. The room is basic and definitely not a new one but I've been to worse hotels. Based on the negative reviews, my room on the 4th was clean, the staff at the reception was kind. To be sure about bedbugs, I always bring tea tree oil when I travel, but I didn't see signs that it was necessary for my room, but used it anyway. I could leave my luggage after check out with no extra charge, which is a plus nowadays, especially if you travel later in the day. I stayed here in September when the temperature was nice and warm, but there is a heater in the room and ventilation, no air conditioner. In the evening, I could smell weed, so I always opened the windows in the morning only.

There bedding was traditional with a top sheet and blanket, which I don't like as I don't know how frequently the blanket is being washed. Also there was no shower curtain in the bathroom and my shower was a bit broken, so my bathroom was floaded every time I took a shower. Not ideal but manageable.
