The Harbour by Moonknight

I like its location, being a short walking distance from the ferry terminal, along bus routes, close to the popular and interesting Lebuh Chulia and Armenia, and other interesting sights. The deluxe double room with ensuite was sufficiently spacious and clean with a window view of the main street. The air conditioner worked well, which is a big factor for me, not being used to heat and humidity. Images supplied by the hotel were accurate.

I wasn't that happy with self service check-in with pre-recorded communication over WhatsApp, as instructions sometimes are not clear or requests not properly dealt with. For example, a query if luggage could be left at the hotel prior to check-in time was met with a repeat of the check-in time. Which meant I had to take time and effort to find a luggage storage facility. It turned out that other guests were able to leave luggage at the hotel. I always prefer to deal with a real person. Major road/facilities works with heavy machinery by the hotel, which could have been very noisy. Fortunately, my stay coincided with public holidays and work was not going on. However, the roads were constantly busy with traffic and the loss of a safe pavement to walk on was apparent.

Affordable, clean & close to Jetty.

No window No onsuite Booking.com displayed a room with a private balcony, but the host insisted it was a room without... Booking.com do not have easy communication to be able to contact them b fore checking-in and therefore, as they know, travellers have no choice but to accept the room or look for another room whilst exhausted and in the heat having travelled to the room, especially with a late night check-in. No communal relaxing area, otherhan the entrance at wih people coming-out
