Excellent location.
Compact bathroom with a cramped shower.
The stair handrail from the street didn't feel secure.
Would have liked some microwave proof glass cookware.

The location is excellent - right in the centre of Lucca, close to the cathedral and other magnificent buildings. Opposite is Vino e Spuntino, a bar/restaurant run by a very friendly and entertaining young man. The apartment is well equipped, though basic. There is an air conditioner, and interesting paintings on the walls.
The access is up 5 steep flights of steps, with plaster falling off the walls and redundant wiring dangling from the ceiling. We struggled to get two heavy suitcases upstairs.
The shower-room is tiny, with the smallest shower I've ever used (only 2 feet wide, and with a shower curtain which clings to you).
