The Space:

The Otter House is a 3-bedroom, 3-bath cottage with a beachy vibe and a captivating view of Blue Heron Lake. Spotting gators sunning on the banks, mullet jumping, and the ever-changing parade of birds provides Lowcountry relaxed entertainment all day. The large rear deck is the perfect place to hang out, with a raised outdoor lounge, a 6-person dining table, and a bar top offering front-row views of the lake and deer that frequently pass through the backyard.



Every detail was carefully considered during a full renovation. Inside, you can chef it up in the gourmet kitchen with views of the lake or lounge on the comfy couch. When the day is done, retire to one of three well-appointed bedrooms. The primary suite features a king bed and an ensuite bath with a double vanity and a wall shower head, a rain shower head, or both! The guest bedroom has a queen bed, a private ensuite bath, and dedicated access to the rocking-chair front porch. The 4-twin bunk room has a full bath across the hall.



In the morning, enjoy your coffee while you watch the sun rise over the lake. Choose your coffee: old-school drip, Keurig, or the Philips 3200 Series Fully-Automatic Espresso Machine with LatteGo + Iced Coffee Maker. As the day heats up, enjoy plenty of ice from our dedicated ice machine in the walk-in pantry. Fill your cooler and insulated cup, grab a few chairs from our beach gear stash, hop on the provided rental golf cart, and take the 5-minute ride to the beach.



If the beach isn't your thing, you can always play pickleball or tennis, work out in the gym, take in any one of several pools on the island (Adult, Olympic, Ocean Point, Marina or Cabana Club), throw a line in at the fishing pier or Bonita Bridge, play at either of the two spectacular golf courses on the island, shoot some hoops at the club or Davis Love Park, horseback ride at Camelot Farms, book a captained ride on the Lil' Fripper or the Fripper II, rent your own boat for the day, or hop on one of the bikes in our stash and go for a ride on the bike path. The outdoor shower is very relaxing all on its own, with incredible views up into the live oaks, plenty of hot water, and fantastic water pressure! However you spend your day, we hope you relax and enjoy this place as much as we have.



*Note: With gators in the water, it isn't safe to swim, boat, or fish in Blue Heron Lake. No worries, there are plenty of other places on the island to do those things!



During your stay, take advantage of the included 4-seat golf cart, your ticket to exploring all that Fripp Island has to offer. Whether you’re heading to the beach, exploring the island’s unique amenities, or simply cruising to take in the natural scenery, the golf cart offers a convenient, leisurely way to get around.

Your rental also includes up to 8 guest cards. These cards are required for access to all resort amenities, including restaurants and bars, pools (open year-round), golf, pickleball, tennis, the fitness center, and more. For current hours of operation, please visit our Hours of Operation page on the Resort site, as some hours adjust seasonally. Guest cards offer exclusive access to discounted golf and racquet rates.



Your unit includes a starter set of essentials, such as toilet paper and paper towels. Springtide Market & Deli (located at the front of the island near the guard gate) stocks everything you need for a longer stay, plus groceries, grab-and-go, liquor, beach accessories, and more!

Located 20 miles from Beaufort, South Carolina, Fripp Island is a gated, private island covering about six and a half square miles. The views from Fripp Island are unlike others in the Sea Islands, as Fripp is the most seaward of them all.

With 2 championship golf courses,5 pool complexes, 12 pickleball courts, 6 tennis courts, and three-and-a-half miles of uninterrupted beach, Fripp Island is an unspoiled treasure. The island also has a full-service deep-water marina, with bicycle, paddleboard, kayak, boat, and golf cart rentals available.



Fripp Island is a designated wildlife sanctuary and is also home to many white-tailed deer and other amazing wildlife. You'll likely see them as you enter the island gates.
