The location of the property was fabulous. More centralized to everything on the island than the map indicated, or that we expected. The view of Assateague was excellent and the ponies came out on the marsh on two different days just across from our porch. We loved the view from the screened porch and spent many hours watching island life from there. We had a couple of issues when we first arrived: the A/C wasn’t working correctly, but an email/phone call to the management company took care of it the same day. The shower door on the upstairs hallway bath was off the track and dangerous. The lady as Harbour Rentals was ready to send a repairman, but we declined because we could share a shower and didn’t want to wait around the townhouse. Our biggest concerns were in the kitchen. The coffee pot flooded the cabinet and was filthy. We bought a new one and left for the next guest. Sadly, the dishes and pots and pans were not clean at all. The dried food had to be washed off of each item we used. It could be that the dishwasher needs serviced, but the coffee pot just needs to be trashed.

We have stayed at Tern Inn every year for a number of the past years, four or five, & we have booked for next year. We love staying there. We love the porch overlooking the Channel. I sit there enjoying the view of Assateague Island. Sometimes the ponies are out & about. I bring a pile of books & just read, read, read. We read the New York Times & Washington Post daily & the Island Foods Grocery put aside copies for us each day. And then there are the beach & the wildlife loop on Assateague. staying there is a great chance to slow down & relax.
