This former school house has been renovated into a lovely light and bright Cotswold holiday apartment which sleeps two guests, in a welcoming mezzanine style bedroom, with ensuite bathroom. Laid out over two floors, there is a sociable open plan living area with ample seating and a well-equipped kitchen. The original stone mullion windows are a striking feature which flood both floors with natural light throughout the day. The Old School House is centrally located boasting both the Cotswold countryside and the bustling market town of Stow-on-the-Wold within easy reach. This combination of features makes for a wonderful getaway and even welcomes one dog!

This one bedroom holiday cottage in Stow-on-the-Wold is perfectly suited for a solo traveller or couple looking to explore the local countryside and eateries. The accommodation is laid out as follows:

Statement double height windows, two-seater sofa, armchair, Smart TV and dining table seating four
Kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave, gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, washing machine, Nespresso pod coffee machine, toaster and kettle

Bedroom with ensuite (Sleeps 2)
Mezzanine overlooking the ground floor, king size bed, built-in cupboard, armchair, chest of drawers, mirror and stool
Ensuite with bath with handheld shower attachment, loo, basin and heated towel rail (due to low ceilings above the bath and lack of screen/curtain, it is not suitable for showering)

The maximum occupancy for this property is 2 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant (aged 2 or under)
Bed linen and towels are provided
Off street parking is available for 1 car
1 travel cot is available on request (please bring your own linen for the travel cot, as this is not provided)

The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates
Charging electric vehicles at this property is not permitted

Tony, our contact, was helpful and accommodating from the start. Wine, beer, jam and dog treats made us feel right at home. The property was very well provisioned and clean and tidy. Would definitely stay again if the opportunity were to arise.

A lovely old school house converted.
We had the end apartment which had off street parking ( rare around this location) .
The place it's self was excellent. Great living room and fully equipped kitchen. Open plan mezzanine bedroom with storage room.
And every accessory at hand, ie 2 large fans which we definitely needed.
Large double bed and bathroom.
My only negative about the whole place is I'm 6 foot 5 tall and the entrance to the upstairs bathroom is quite low, but I managed.
Excellent location for all the local villages and places to see.
Will definitely be booking this place again in the future.

I had a midweek stay in April , cancellation of racing by Cheltenham racecourse changed my visit into a walking break instead of a racing one !. The Old School House is full of character, quirky (in a nice way), well equiped and very comfortable and on top of that it is in a fantastic position. To find a lovely cottage like this in a quiet position within strolling distance of Stow town centre and with off road parking is a rarity, and something to really appreciate if you are visiting in high season.
Stow itself is great, with many independent shops , superb coffee shops and a good selection of pubs and restaurants as well as a choice of takeaways plus some really good walks in the surrounding countryside.
It was refreshing to stay in a property with everything you could need in the kitchen and bathroom , so no need for a last minute dash to the shop for essentials plus Tony (very helpful with great communication) had supplied a very nice welcome pack.
I will surely return to this lovely property.

We had a lovely stay at The Old School House. The place was very clean and quiet. Perfect for a few days stay in the Cotswolds. There were lots of nice little touches throughout the house to make you feel comfortable and special. Everything you could need was provided in the kitchen and bathroom. So nice to have a variety of cooking utensils and cutlery, rather than two of everything because only two people were staying.
The Old School House was a perfect location for Stow on the Wold as well as other lovely locations in the surrounding area. It was great to be able to bring our little dog too.
Tony was very helpful and only too happy to help.
We would definitely stay again.
