We have a beautifully updated two-story single-family home with private sand beach with a 35"x14" patio on Lake Erie! Many of our reviews state 'there's everything you need' in this house!
This is our 8th year of hosting, and we continue to update our lake front property annually. Recently, the 1st floor Primary Bath was completely renovated to include a walk-in shower with bypass glass doors and a fold-down seat, double vanity, matching mirrors, undermounted sinks, marble countertop, an ADA-height toilet and porcelain tiled floor. Also, the 2nd floor full bath received a new 42"w vanity, single sink, ceramic countertop, and 42"w wall mirror.
Although we're off the beaten path, it's a great place to relax and enjoy family time by creating lasting memories! Enjoy magnificent sunsets and sunrises from your private beach! This area is known for abundant fishing (don't forget your Ohio fishing license) and adventurous boating experiences.
NOTE: our vacation home is located in a homeowners' association called Long Beach Association (LBA). LBA which is a private association located along the western basin of Lake Erie. Our residential community consists of both seasonal and year-round residents. To preserve the unique character and privacy of Long Beach, the association allows only a limited number of rentals.
Take the Jet Express to Put-In-Bay and walk, ride a golf cart, climb Admiral Perry's (war of 1812) monument in Put-In-Bay, or enjoy an adult beverage and savory foods in the Island's many pubs and winery. Submerge yourself in solitude by kayaking around South Bass (Put-In-Bay) or Kelley's Islands. From Put-In-Bay take the Goodtime Ferry to Kelley's Island to hike or golf cart your way to discover the world-famous Glacial Grooves.
Explore Magee Marsh Wildlife Area, and other local protected sanctuaries, nationally known in American Birding circles as host to thousands of bird watchers each spring and fall. Enjoy a fast-paced day at Cedar Point amusement park. Or slow it down a bit by taking the kids to African Safari Wildlife Park, Lagoon Deer Park or Toledo Zoo.
Back on the mainland, take a dip from your private sand beach before grilling dinner, and sharing meals in the Lanai while enjoying the lakefront view. Catch amazing sunsets with a cozy fire on the beach and close the night by sharing your day's experiences in the Lanai.

Two families stayed at the house and it was the perfect size. We enjoyed beach time and touring the nearby towns. Everything we needed was provided. Thanks to our hosts for allowing us to use the property.

Five of us came to Whit's End for the birding festival in May. The location was great - right on the water for beautiful views, and a quick drive to the various birding locations. One of the things we wanted was multiple bathrooms! That way we could all get ready quickly when we wanted to get moving early in the morning. We took turns cooking, and the kitchen was roomy and well-supplied. (We did bring a couple of our own knives for food prep - we don't expect a rental to have high-quality knives because they'd probably walk out the door.) Plenty of dishes, a good coffee maker, etc.Communication was quick and responsive when I had a few questions after we moved in. I highly recommend Whit's End for a lakefront vacation. Plenty of equipment for kids, too.

The house was nice and big, if a bit dated with a few quirks, but a great location on Lake Erie. Very nice neighborhood. A fabulous winery called Gideon nearby! The hosts requested $25 extra for housekeeping AFTER we disclosed the number of guests and had paid the agreed upon cost. I complained about this hidden cost and after some back and forth they did rescind the fee. The hosts sent us 15 messages full of very detailed information and instructions. LOTS of notes in the house too including how to open the screen door, how to use the grill, flush the toilet and what to set the thermostat at (73). We were even asked to wash out the inside of the outdoor garbage cans! The hosts DEMANDED a personal phone call prior to the stay. This was after we had to send photocopies of our drivers licenses and sign a 6 page contract. The contract said the door code would be sent 1 week before our stay. 4 days before our stay, the host asked for a personal phone call to discuss all the rules. I had a very very busy week I did not have time for a phone call to explain the rules - especially after the copious amount of communication we’d already endured. I asked to avoid this phone call. The host refused to release the door code to me unless I made time in my schedule to talk to him on the phone. The hosts made this stay unpleasant before it had began. Honestly, the house was fine, but I would not recommend anyone stay here due to the hosts behavior.
