INSIDE
Featuring an eat-in clean kitchen where you can share your favorite meals or play games as a family. The kitchen has everything you need and there is a separate drink area through the pass through. Or share BBQ delights outside complete with bistro lights and a propane heater for chillier nights
Relax in the living area and enjoy the electric fireplace – perfect spot to cozy up to watch a movie on the Smart TV.

Premier bedroom offers a Queen sized bed
BR2 Double over Double bunk
BR3 Queen sized bed
Bathroom: 3 piece with tile shower
Bathroom 2 is a half bath

SmartTV so you can login to your own Netflix/Prime account. Outdoor dining with propane heater. And you can cozy up in front of an electric Fireplace. There are 2 huge floaties for your use and an outside shower!

OUTSIDE
Lots of areas to sit and read, gossip and laugh. With a large backyard, there is tons of room for lawn games and the kids to run around. And we've got a hammock in a quiet area so you can steal an afternoon nap.
Share BBQ delights on the Propane BBQ complete with bistro lights and a propane heater for chillier nights. Open deck seating area and a covered deck if you want to escape the sun.
After a beautiful day in cottage country, gather around the firepit for storytelling, marshmallow roasting, and stargazing.
The beach here is fabulous!!! The access to the Lake is 2 doors North.(Approx 60 stairs) Looks like someone's driveway but it's actually to the left. The lakebed can be sandy or stoney depending on what the lake gives you that day. But it sure is fun to try to find the ever changing sandbars. Generally you will find sand 3ft out. It's fun to go stone collecting - Lake Huron is a geologists paradise! Just bring some water shoes. The nice thing is, it's not weedy or slimy at all.
Max 1 dog is allowed but must sign separate pet addendum
Parking is limited to 4 vehicles
Linens are available for $20/per person. This includes Tea Towels, Dishcloths, Sheets & Pillowcases, Bathroom towels, Hand towels and Face cloths. Does not include Beach Towels.
All Guests are required to sign a separate cottage rental agreement and provide government issued photo id. Including names and ages of all guests who will occupy the property. Primary renter must be over 25 photo id is required. Only those occupants listed on the Rental Agreement, are allowed to occupy the property. A separate security deposit of $500 is required. Max occupancy at all times is 6, violation will result in removal without refund.
Our Winter Weather Cancellation Policy is designed with your safety in mind. If winter conditions make travel unsafe or if there are road closures preventing you from reaching the cottage, you have flexible options:
❄ Delay Your Arrival – If the cottage is available, you can shift your stay by a day or two.
❄ Reschedule – Move your booking to a future date that works for you.
❄ Full Refund – If rescheduling isn’t possible, you can cancel for a full refund.

This cottage was a hidden gem. My husband and I needed a place to stay while our home was being renovated and it was the perfect choice. The cottage is located between Grand Bend and Bayfield and was close to several wineries and breweries. This lovely little cottage was in a private subdivision and was cosy, comfortable and extremely quiet. The cottage was clean and some basic things like toilet paper and salt and pepper were provided, although you do have to pay extra for linens. The beach is just a short walk away. The host was awesome about keeping in touch to ensure that we had everything we need.

Really enjoyed our stay. Only issue was lack of air conditioning during a heat wave but we were aware of the lack of air conditioning when we booked.

This was our return visit to Happy Hideaway in what is becoming a yearly vacation for our small family. We really love our time there together. Swimming, relaxing, enjoying delicious meals, camp fires with s'mores, hammock time, movie nights, cards and board games, visiting the local towns, getting local farm fresh eggs at the end of the road; there's no shortage of things to do and it's the perfect place to do nothing at all. Our daughter loved it, our dog loved it, we loved it. Looking forward to next year already.
