House was lovely and clean and in a great location

Nothing... But the The toilet was hilariously tall (there was a step 🤣)

The cottage was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Having arrived on an exceptional hot day it was lovely and cool in the cottage. The location was brilliant just a couple of minutes walk into the village of Tideswell which is idyllic and well served with pubs and independent shops. Alison is a great host and kept us updated at all times.

Nothing not to like just one small observation, it would be useful to have a small selection of knives for slicing etc.

We had a wonderful stay at Brock Cottage in Tideswell and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. The cottage is in an excellent location, with a lovely view from the front patio—perfect for enjoying a morning or evening cup of tea. It is tastefully and modernly decorated, bright and airy thanks to the large number of windows, and thoughtfully lit in the evenings with a great choice of lighting throughout. The large dining table quickly became our favourite cosy gathering spot. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for basic cooking, along with a good selection of dinnerware and utensils. Having a washer-dryer, dishwasher, and full-size fridge freezer made our stay even more comfortable and convenient. Parking is right outside the cottage, which was a real bonus. There’s also a Co-op just a few minutes away that’s open until late for all the essentials. Tideswell itself is a charming village, with a couple of lovely pubs and a beautiful church, all within an easy 10-minute walk. What truly stood out was the owner, who was always very prompt, friendly, and helpful in responding to any queries. A comfortable, well-equipped cottage in a fantastic location—an ideal base for exploring the Peak District.

You could add this as a balanced and constructive note at the end of your review: The only minor concern we had was the raised black slate hearth surrounding the fireplace. It sits a couple of centimetres above the main floor level, making it quite easy to catch your foot on it if you’re not paying attention. My boys stumbled over it a couple of times during our stay and it was quite painful, so I ended up placing the living room rug over the raised edges to cushion the corners and reduce the risk of injury. It may be worth considering adding some edge protection or a more visible contrast to help prevent accidental trips, particularly for children and older guests.

Central location and quiet.

The toilet was too high and didn't flush well. Only two towels fir two people should have full set each. Lack of coasters made us scared to use side tables. Kitchen bin had rubbish and half eaten food when we arrived. No joining instructions no answer to messages until we found phone number .information on how to use appliances and local attractions not available.
