The beautiful and spacious apartment is in an incredibly convenient location, a short walk from the central railway station and the Colosseum (our 5 year old managed both without complaint!). It is right next to a Metro station on Line A, for convenient travel to other sites. The apartment is on the 5th floor, which takes you above the worst of the inevitable noise of city life, and there is a small lift to get up and down. There are shops and cafes in the immediate area, and finding fresh warm breakfast pastries first thing in the morning wasn't a problem, and the owners kindly left a selection of goods anyway. Visitors with young children should be aware of the many delicate objet d'art and fabric wall coverings that decorate the apartment. We avoided any unfortunate interaction, but did feel the need to give frequent reminders that calm, decorous behaviour and clean hands would be even more appreciated than usual...

The area is a little run-down, with some litter and graffiti, but didn't feel unsafe.
