Notes to Renters
Welcome to Sandtraps and Sunsets! Please note that Big Canoe is a gated community, so we’ll need the names of all drivers at the time of your reservation to ensure smooth gate access.
The property allows parking for up to two vehicles. Street parking is strictly prohibited and subject to fines ($150 per occurrence), but there is convenient overflow parking nearby if needed. Trailers are not permitted to be brought into the community.
Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Big Canoe takes noise policies seriously, and neighbors may report disturbances. Any fines issued by the community will be passed on to the renter, so we appreciate your help in keeping things peaceful.
Pet policy: There is a 1 pet limit and the fee is $200. Any undisclosed pets is a $500 fee.
Check In is 4:00 PM
Checkout time is 10:00 AM on your day of departure. Late checkouts are subject to a $50 per hour fee.
Please Treat Our Home with Care -
We ask that guests leave the home in a generally tidy condition. If additional cleaning is needed beyond normal housekeeping — such as carpet stains, excessive mess, or damage — an extra cleaning fee will be charged.
Trash Removal - All trash including bathrooms, kitchen and items in pantry and refrigerator must be removed upon departure to avoid $50 trash removal fee.
Exterior security cameras are located at the frontflood light and driveway. There are no cameras inside the home

It was just perfect for us up for a wedding at the Tate House. Not too far up in the Big Canoe winding mountain roads so an easy drive/ride but still a nice view of mountain ridges. Close to pool & beach, pickleball courts & clubhouse. The house very clean, nice size rooms, comfy beds, kitchen has all the things! We very much enjoyed our stay and if we go back to BC we’d love to stay again.

Clean and well-appointed. Just about everything we needed in the kitchen including a wide arrangement of spices. Dining area was perfect for a host of family games and a nice movie room downstairs as well. We enjoyed taking our family and dogs on some of the hiking trails. We would recommend this cabin

Was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Kitchen was stocked with more than expected for making Christmas feast. It was clean, spacious and well hosted.
