Cute place and close to downtown....really nice to have the outside back yard area to hang out in. The host was always quick to respond to any and all questions.
Very noisy as it's close to the freeway and the planes going right over you. But I suggested the host supply ear plugs for their guests. The noise didn't bother me as I'm used to it BUT some travelers might be a bit more sensitive. Also, the little extras like sugar, creamer for coffee was lacking. And when only staying for 1 night, you don't want to have to purchase those items.

Very close to Balboa Park and some of the main attractions, the host was very responsive and super helpful. We had lots of questions and requests and they were able to accommodate all of them. The unit is equipped with everything you will need plus a washing machine and a dryer. AC was working great and saved us from the heat.
The unit is located on a very very steep incline.
It's an old unit and I can't say it vas very clean. When we got there, we found some hair and dust at the corners and the floor was dirty. There were ants and spiders in the bathroom and the kitchen (the owner provided bug spray, but we still came across the insects). The bedroom and cabinet doors and are crooked, so you can't fully close them. It's also perry small (3 bedrooms over ~800 sq ft).
When we came back after 8pm mid week, we couldn't find any parking close by and had to park 6 blocks away.

Very convenient. We were generally able to park in front of the property and it is only a few minutes to the zoo or the freeway. All of the facilities worked and the host was very responsive.
You do hear a bit of traffic noise but the double pain windows mute it enough that it didn’t keep any of us awake.
Note that the property is on a steep hill and there are stairs up to the front door. Also, the second bathroom is very small so if you are a large person, it would probably be difficult for you but the hall bathroom has plenty of room and it is really nice that they were able to squeeze in a second bathroom including a shower.
