Welcome to Manawaroto, a special family home in the heart of Tekapo. The name blends manawa (heart) and roto (lake) in te reo Māori, reflecting both the deep connection our family has to this house and the life-giving waters of Lake Tekapo.



This 3-bedroom is full of character and warmth. With a cozy fireplace, breathtaking lake views, and the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd in sight, it’s a place where memories are made.

Free on-site parking is available, and most local attractions are only a few minutes away by car. The area is also very walkable if you prefer to explore on foot

-Treat yourself to an in house massage during your Tekapo stay. Exclusive to Ohana guests, this is an easy way to relax without leaving your room. Sessions are $90 per hour and available on request, with limited daily time slots so booking ahead is recommended.



🚽 A Quick Note About the Plumbing



To help protect Lake Tekapo’s plumbing system, please flush toilet paper only. Place all wipes—including those labelled “flushable”—in the rubbish bin provided. Thank you for helping us care for the property and the local infrastructure.



★ SAFETY DEPOSIT OR DAMAGE WAIVER REQUIRED ★



We understand that accidents can happen. To help protect the space and ensure a worry-free stay, all reservations require either a damage waiver or a safety deposit.



You can choose the option that works best for you: a non-refundable damage waiver ranging from $39 up to $79, which covers accidental damage and normal wear and tear (no deductible) or a refundable safety deposit of $450, which will be returned after checkout as long as no damage is found and all house rules are followed.



If you've already purchased Damage Protection Insurance through a third-party provider, feel free to share your policy with us-we're happy to

review it and we may consider waving the requirement based on your coverage.



Please note: The damage waiver does not cover damage caused by house rule violations.



🔑 Only one property access key/fob is provided as standard. Additional key/fob must be requested before arrival. A replacement fee of NZD $250 applies for each lost key or fob.
