The location was right next to the museum area, in a walking lane. Reasonably quiet, a short walk down to the historic city centre. The house is a converted nuclear family residence.
Lovely hosts, very helpful with booking taxis to and from the house. They stayed up to see me arrive at 0500 in the morning and depart at 0200 in the morning. Very reasonable prices.
The house has a friendly cat.
Not Bad points:
I visited in late April, when LaPaz is starting to cool off. The building has no heating, so prepare to dress up if loitering in the evenings. Summer must be nice and cool.
LaPaz being where it is on the SA flight paths, you will likely get in at very early or late hours. The host advised to book the extra day so you have somewhere to crash when you arrive, rather than midday onwards. Given the reasonable price this was not a problem.
The house is Casa Colonial, but the signage out front says something else. Initially a bit confusing when arriving early in the morning.
