Lovely high ceilings and beautifully renovated. The hotel is right in the main street yet the apartments are quiet and the beds are comfy.

The room was excellent. Comfortable and quiet. Parking was secure. Staff were very friendly and informative.
A few black hairs in the bathroom (I'm white/grey and my wife is blonde - and we had no visitors.)
Deep frying a veal schnitzel is mistreatment personified. Could hardly cut the meat. The deep fried fish and chips was as expected. Bacon served for breakfast also appeared to be deep fried and it was as difficult to cut as the schnitzel had been. The poached eggs were excellent.

Lovely large room with very comfortable bed and an electric fire. Excellent water pressure in the shower which, in our experience, is unusual at an old hotel. Reception staff very friendly and helpful when we needed assistance after we discovered that our room had not been serviced, bringing clean glasses, fresh towels, water, soaps etc. the hotel is in a good location near shops and cafes with easy access to the surrounding wine regions.
Our room was not serviced after the first night - apparently staff thought that we had the "DO Not Disturb" sign displayed - in fact it was "Please Make Up Room"! Obviously no check by a supervisor. It was a shame because aside from this the hotel exceeded our expectations.
