Kilmurray Heights is a great place to stay, we walked to and from Kenmare town centre every day we were there and that took about 30 mins, each way. The walk is very pleasant, but you need to say alert for vehicles, as its a very narrow road.. Kenmare itself is a great place to visit and to stay. I recommend a walk in Reenagross Park and also the Eco Park, (the Eco Park is outside the town, just beyond the pier). Diarmuid, the staff member we met in the local tourist office was fantastic, he was very helpful.
The local taxi service: it's non-existent.
