We’ve stayed in a lot of cottages over the years but this is the best appointed one ever. Perfect location, 5 minutes’ walk from the Calanais Stones. Everything you could possibly want for a stay and all so stylishly done.

Nothing, it was perfect.

Charming cottage, squeaky clean, big soaking tub, cute furnishings, comfortable beds, but the absolute best thing it is so close to the Callanish Standing Stones. You can even see Callanish 2 from the deck. It also felt very private, there were sheep and cows and chickens in the pasture. Two bedrooms upstairs, living, dining, kitchen and bathroom downstairs. Even has a washer and dryer which would come in handy for longer stays. There is a picnic table and outdoor furniture plus pretty potted flowers. Doesn’t get much better than this. The host was responsive, helpful and friendly. The only place on Lewis we will ever want to stay.

We are American, so we have learned to bring our own top sheet when we travel to Europe. No one in Europe uses top sheets. Not a big deal at all, just letting fellow Americans know.
