The Lookout is a spacious private upper-level Lake Tekapo retreat, designed around its beautiful lake and mountain scenery.



Your booking includes the four-bedroom accommodation across the upper levels of the property, with a bright open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area where everyone can relax together.



Large windows frame the alpine outlook, while sliding doors open directly onto the elevated deck. After a day exploring Tekapo, settle into the lounge, enjoy the Smart TV or warm up beside the wood burner.



Access to your accommodation includes stairs, so the property may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.

The village centre is just a short 5 minute drive away, where you'll find cafés, restaurants, a supermarket, and local attractions. Popular destinations such as the Church of the Good Shepherd, Tekapo Springs, the Dark Sky Project, and Mount John Observatory are all within a 5 to 10 minute drive. For those looking to explore further, Twizel is approximately 45 minutes away, Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park is around 1 hour and 15 minutes by car, and several ski fields can be reached during the winter season. Free parking is available on site, making it easy to come and go throughout your stay. 🚙🌄

To help protect Lake Tekapo’s plumbing system, please flush toilet paper only. Place all wipes—including those labelled “flushable”—in the rubbish bin provided. Thank you for helping us care for the property and the local infrastructure.



★ SAFETY DEPOSIT OR DAMAGE WAIVER REQUIRED ★



We understand that accidents can happen. To help protect the space and ensure a worry-free stay, all reservations require either a damage waiver or a safety deposit.



You can choose the option that works best for you: a non-refundable damage waiver ranging from $39 up to $79, which covers accidental damage and normal wear and tear (no deductible) or a refundable safety deposit of $450, which will be returned after checkout as long as no damage is found and all house rules are followed.



If you've already purchased Damage Protection Insurance through a third-party provider, feel free to share your policy with us-we're happy to

review it and we may consider waving the requirement based on your coverage.



Please note: The damage waiver does not cover damage caused by house rule violations.



🔑 Only one house access key is provided as standard. Additional key must be requested before arrival. A replacement fee of NZD $250 applies for each lost key.
