Casa Cascada at Metamorfinca

Escape to Casa Cascada, a thoughtfully crafted two-bedroom earthen home at Metamorfinca, our 22-acre permaculture farm and mountain retreat in San Luis. Surrounded by lush jungle at approximately 3,000 feet above sea level, the home overlooks the San Luis waterfall and enjoys a refreshingly cool climate throughout the year.

Guests share access to Metamorfinca’s heated pool, hot tub, infrared Clearlight sauna, bamboo yoga shala, permaculture gardens and private river swimming hole. The farm is also home to goats, sheep, chickens, ducks and turkeys, creating a peaceful and memorable Costa Rican countryside experience.

Casa Cascada is approximately 35 minutes from Uvita and 45 minutes from San Isidro, offering access to beaches, waterfalls and local attractions while providing a quiet place to retreat into nature.

The space

Casa Cascada is a two-story home designed with natural materials, sustainable features and artistic details.

The first floor includes:

* A comfortable living room with a large sectional sofa that can convert into two twin sleeping spaces
* A fully equipped kitchen
* An outdoor patio and dining area surrounded by nature

Upstairs you will find:

* A primary bedroom with a king-size bed and private balcony overlooking the waterfall
* A second bedroom with a queen-and-twin bunk-bed arrangement
* One shared full bathroom

The home can accommodate up to seven guests, although it is especially comfortable for couples, families and small groups seeking a peaceful nature escape.

Important location and driving information

Please read carefully before booking: Metamorfinca is a remote mountain property reached by approximately 20 minutes of unpaved road. A 4x4 vehicle is required for traveling to and from the property, including trips to beaches, waterfalls, restaurants, grocery stores and markets.

We strongly recommend arriving during daylight, especially for your first visit. Please purchase groceries and other essentials before checking in, as the nearest stores and restaurants are approximately 35 minutes away.

Rainy season can bring heavy rainfall and more challenging road conditions, making a capable 4x4 especially important. Guests are responsible for arranging their own vehicle and transportation.

Other things to know

Casa Cascada is best suited for guests who enjoy nature, rural living and a little adventure. You may encounter insects, wildlife, rain, farm sounds and the other natural rhythms of life in the Costa Rican mountains.

Quiet hours are observed from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM so everyone can enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Because of our remote location, we cannot guarantee check-in assistance after 9:00 PM.
