Nestled in Takayama Village, Nagano Prefecture, at an elevation of 800 meters and surrounded by breathtaking nature, this hidden-gem traditional Japanese villa is available exclusively to one group per day. You’ll have exclusive use of the entire first floor, which spans over 150 square meters. A host fluent in Japanese, English, and Chinese is always on hand on the upper floor to ensure you have a comfortable and seamless stay.

We offer four authentic Japanese-style tatami rooms that exude traditional ambiance, accommodating families or groups of up to 9 guests. Whether you need a room close to the bathroom for elderly guests or a traditional room with a kamidana (Shinto altar), you can enjoy a stay tailored to your family’s needs.
In addition to a spacious bathroom, the property features two separate toilets equipped with Washlet bidets, ensuring a stress-free morning even for large groups. With a large open kitchen for cooking, a washer-dryer, and a dedicated drying room for winter gear, Nakataya Heritage Retreat is ideal for extended stays.

[Surrounding Area & Activities]
In winter, enjoy Yamada Bokujo Ski Resort (a hidden gem offering powder snow and a kids’ park), making it the perfect base for visiting the world-famous snow monkeys at Jigokudani Monkey Park. From spring through autumn, you can enjoy the stunning foliage of Matsukawa Gorge, “Kaminaridaki Falls” where you can walk behind the cascade, and exquisite local wines and hot springs.
