The lunch patio was very nice
the dinner portions were extremely small. The staff were just OK. The small pool is very outdated.

We had dinner in the Hatley, main dining room and the food, staff, ambiance were top notch! From the moment we stepped in the door we were treated exceptionally. We walked back to a place in time when people cared.

Your location is great.
Well I was put in a room right beside the construction. I was well aware of the construction but you said I would not be next to it.
I was disappointed in the entrance to HM. The entrance goes past propane tanks and staff parking, with signs stating this is only staff parking. This made me think that people who are not staying at the inn must come and park here and walk around the property to see it. This made me concerned for security at HM, clearly as I walked around I realized that anyone could drive in here and wander around the property at will. I am not used to this from a 5 star hotel. I recently stayed at the Ritz-Carleton and security was very important and should be at a hotel of this quality. This is not 5 star. The immediate curb appeal was very lacking from the road. The green carpet on the stairs reminded me of an old motel, very cheap looking. Further the railing on the stairs was very low. I realize this is an old railing but I have seen old railings in beautiful inns before that they superimposed a beautiful brass rail on top of the old antique rail so that people had a safe hand hold. I also believe there should be a rail on both sides of the stairs. In order to use the railing, although I am very fit and agile another couple and I had shuffle around each other, all wanting to hold the railing as we should when we are over 60 years old or any age actually.
Further I thought the skimpy use of flagstones as pathways looked like you ran out of money. Not a great look and the one wooden staircase to the tennis courts was in bad need of replacement. Maybe you thought it looked charming but it wasn't and I got a sliver using the old log railing, which was a must considering the very unsure and wobbly wood steps.
Nespresso in the rooms with coffee mate is just a no, it is not even Holiday Inn. Nespresso is just glorified instant coffee. At the Ritz-Carlton I had a Keurig with good coffee and real cream in the fridge in the room, that is 5 star.

Breakfast was great! Lots of delicious options.
The staff exceeded expectations.

Wonderful location, with view of the lake, staff very friendly and helpful--when I asked a question about local sites or facilities, they would not only give a verbal answer but would go to the computer and print out paper info.
The common room was a bit loud one evening but only until about 11.

Very attentive staff, beautiful views, comfortable and classy accommodations, fine food.
Food is outstanding, but the house coffee isn't up to par with the meal...it was tasteless.
The construction does make parking and getting into the hotel a bit challenging, but this hopefully will change when the spa is ready!

The property is exceptional. The location with the lake also. I really enjoyed my stay at the Manoir Hovey. There were renovations when we visited which took away some of the charm of the location.
Being told that reservations were unnecessary by the staff and being asked for my diner reservation to be seated outdoor at the pub. It was the 30th birthday anniversary of my girlfriend and the staff told us to sit inside. This was by far a downside of the Manoir Hovey considering the price they charge you for everything. I would have liked being told to absolutely make a reservation at the first place.

The room was outstanding. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were exceptional in every way. The restaurant was worthy of the hype. The massage and facial were extremely well done. Really an all around great stay.
Wish booking.com wouldn't use a frown face here. This isn't a complaint--just something that I had to learn to set aside. You see, this stay was pricey. Now in saying this, I'm not trying to insinuate it was overpriced. I never felt like they were charging what they did solely because of their name or reputation. There was no resting on laurels. Everything really was top shelf. And one should expect to splurge for that type of excellence. But goodness we spent some bank.

Our room (#40) was the most beautiful hotel room I have ever stayed in. Beautifully furnished and very large. Lovely balcony with a view of the lake. We ate at Le Tap Room on our first night and the food was delicious. We also had breakfast in the main dining room on our last morning and the food was incredible. The service was outstanding and we loved all of the little touches that made our experience exceptional. We will be back!
Everything was perfect. Nothing could have been improved upon. Even though there was construction going on during our stay, it didn't bother us at all. Hopefully once the new spa complex is finished, the parking situation will improve. Parking on the road was fine during the summer months but I wouldn't want to have to park there during the fall or winter months.

The setting and the quaintness and beauty of the hotel. our room was well appointed.
We had a balcony and two loungers outside where we could read would have been better. The chairs were very uncomfortable. I suggest two comfortable chairs for breakfast and smaller table and add in the loungers.

Beautiful hotel, gorgeous grounds, courteous staff. Our private balcony was sublime. We slept really well. The two meals were unforgettable experiences.
The room was a bit small, considering the price.
