We had an amazing time. The room was large, well decorated, with a killer view. We had plans to head down to the Zoo, maybe up to The Getty, but after our first visit to the beach we never left except for dinner. They will set up beach chairs and umbrellas for you.

Room was not cleaned and ready for a 4PM check in. No access to a breakfast room only had muffin in a bag and banana or apple choices. Furniture in room was new and stylish but uncomfortable and had poor layout.

We have stayed here numerous times over the years including pre-Covid. It is one of the best located properties in Carlsbad and surrounding areas. We have stayed in many of their rooms, but for our family- we prefer the rooms with the ocean views - they aren’t dark and have a lovely balcony to sit and enjoy the view. The property is always clean and well taken care of. The beach service attendance are always very friendly, helpful. We really enjoy the lovely macarons that are left the first day at our door. a very nice touch.

There really isn’t much to not like. It is very disappointing that the hotel doesn’t do the open breakfast service that it used to. They have a lovely breakfast room and outdoor seating area. They used to have the most amazing coffee- key rig and Nespresso don’t come close to what they used to serve. The breakfast now doesn’t compare with what they used to do. Our check in this time was not a great experience. We arrived 2 hours before checkin to see if our room possibly was ready. The man who initially helped us was courteous and informed us that our room was being cleaned - to come back in an about an hour. Perfect- we went and walked around town. came back and a young woman was now working- she rudely told us that the room was being inspected to make sure it was clean. she would call when it was ready. it took well over an hour for the cleanliness of the room to be inspected. She seemed very determined to not give us our room a minute before 4, even if it was ready. If your hotel is fully booked and half of the rooms need to be turned over on any given day- if it takes an hour to clean and an hour to inspect- there is no way to get all the rooms ready by 4 pm checkin. it also seemed like the hotel is under new management- so wondering if this has something to do with it.

Room was phenomenal. Oversized and very comfortable. The view and beach could not be beat!

The hot tub could have been a bit cleaner and we couldn’t get into our room until after check in. But they did allow us to use the facilities while we waited the afternoon. Lovely staff and all around great experience!

This was an Amazing "get-a-way Surprise Birthday for My Wife" We always enjoy coming to Carlsbad and explore all the features/experiences which we always find new and interesting adventures!

the wait at check-in as I understood the posted time for check-in but was informed they were to make it possible for us to check-in earlier, did not happen.......??????!!!!!!!

We liked everything about our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful.
