The hotel was pretty good, honestly. It was very roomy, had a fireplace, and was nice and clean. The price was good. We were surprised to find a full fridge and stove in the unit. I wish I'd known that prior to arriving because I might have made supper there! I always love having somewhere to put our food and freeze our cooler packs. The breakfast was reasonably good- had a couple of fruit options, cereal, toast, and muffins.

We were told that they are trying to replace all the beds over time as it's quite expensive to do all at once. We got one of the older ones, and I didn't find it very comfortable as were more firm than we like. The room was pretty warm, but we opened the window for a little bit, which cooled things down. The only other downside was that fireplaces and fridges do make a little sound, so if you can't sleep unless it's completely silent, you might want to avoid hotels with fridges and fireplaces. Didn't bother me, thankfully. Breakfast had one protein option only, in the form of a frozen breakfast wrap, but that's expected unless the site description says otherwise.

The overnight front desk fellow was very friendly and helpful; room was clean and the bed was very comfy. I’m glad Budget motel was closed at the time I pulled into Whitecourt, for the same price I slept way better.
