Location is very convenient, a few blocks from 4th St. and San Pablo Ave., and right on the bus line to downtown/campus. My room was very quiet, bed was comfortable. Decent sized and recently updated bathroom. The man who checked me in at 10pm was very kind.
The breakfast was a little sparse -- a waffle maker, pastries/bagels, and cold cereal. But it was nice to have free breakfast. The layout of my room (at the end of the hall) was a little unsettling with a tiled corridor between the door and the bedroom.

I stayed here on two occasions in the past few weeks because I was going to shows at The Greek Theatre. The location is good, easy access to the highway, walking distance to Fourth Street, and there are some restaurants just across the street. Beds were comfortable and the rooms seemed clean. I loved the lobby and it was quiet at night.
On my second stay, the room had some kind of a musty odor, and one of the curtains had multiple cigarette burns. The outlets next to the lamp on the nightstand didn't work, but the charging station did. I never found the ice machine or someone to ask when I was looking.

It’s a very cool old hotel
The pool was ice cold and closed at 5 PM! there was no place to sit outside once that gate was locked. The towels were very rough. we could hear the people above us walking around at 3 AM.

The fishing boats require you to arrive at 5:30 am, so be very close to The Emeryville marina is a plus. ( only 5-10 minute..."
