El Rey Court

Room was as described and the bed was comfortable. The room was clean and I didn't really hear any neighbor noise through the walls which is always a big bonus. Staff were friendly and helpful and I enjoyed all the on site amenities (when I could use them) Atheistic and vibes were good.

The pillows are in desperate need of replacement. They were flat and lumpy. The HVAC unit in the room also probably needs an upgrade, it was pretty noisy. Also was pretty disappointed that the pool was closed for an entire day on a Saturday because a wedding rented it out. I feel like all day rentals are a bit much like how about a designated time so the other guests can actually use the pool too? That was a selling point for me in booking this hotel and find out I couldn't use it at all for a whole day was a big bummer. Maybe communicate that to guests in advance so they can weigh other options

nice pool

terrible beds and pillows they need to be replaced

Breakfast at La Reina was a mixed bag. When we eventually got our food, it was fine. However, the fact that they only had two staff members working to the best of their abilities to service far too many guests created a less than favorable experience.

The room, while charming in a “boho” kind of way, was marred by the very broken lighting in the walk-in closet, dim lighting in the kitchenette, and the tub/shower combo that was fairly “dicey” to stand in safely. The front desk staff left me conflicted. I felt like we had some of the best and worst examples of “friendly” to “indifferent”. On our first night, we requested housekeeping, and they followed through as expected. The second day, we asked for housekeeping again, and came back to the room to find it as we left it, without room service. When we inquired, they said “sorry”, and gave us new towels.

Its on the old route 66. Romantic. Retains a hint of former Coolness.

They push out text messages offering assistance but then don’t respond. Pool closes as soon as the blazing sun goes down. Place is overpriced.
