Aloft by Marriott Miami Doral

The property was clean. Staff was very friendly.

The floors were sticky when you walk bare foot , but with shoes on they were slick, and my husband and I both almost fell . Not sure if someone used the dirty mop.

Breakfast included although selection was limited. Great parking. Spacious rooms Big bathroom bench area Great location not too far from airport

The door on the bathroom needed adjusting - would not stay closed. We had to keep asking for more towels even though they knew we had 4 people they kept leaving only 3

Love the location to the Mall and MIA Airport

The breakfast options were not great. I understand that pork is a very low cost meat but not all people eat pork and that was mainly served at breakfast. This was a waste because I paid for the breakfast included but had to go eat elsewhere. So I will definitely plan differently if I say here again

I left after one night because of the smell of smoke coming into the room through the AC from nearby wild fires. I went to the front desk the following morning and said I would not be staying the additional 3 nights and asked for a refund. I was told they'd take my request to management. After that I called the hotel 2x's. The first time I was put on hold for 30 minutes and then the call was disconnected. I called again a few days later and the person at reception told me she would call back after speaking with management. I never got a call back. I then contacted booking.com and asked them to intervene. I was told that booking.com contacted Aloft Hotel and that within 24 hrs I should have a response. That never happened so I contacted my credit card company to start a dispute for the additional days charged to my account. Also, one of the elevators was out of service. This was a problem I had read about in reviews of the hotel, but assumed it had been repaired. That was not the case. I will never stay an Aloft Hotel again.
