Sleep Inn & Suites Mount Vernon

It was located very close to a highway ramp. The rooms were very spacious, and the beds were roomy. The TV picture was crystal clear, and there was a wide selection of channels. For breakfast, guests could choose from hot dishes such as scrambled eggs and sausages. With several restaurants within an easy walking distance, I could leave my car at the motel, walk over, and enjoy a drink.

The room didn’t have enough toilet paper rolls, and it looked like they would run out after two nights. There was only one lever on the bathroom wall to control the water temperature, and the switch to change between the faucet and the shower—which is usually located above the faucet—was missing. As a result, I didn’t know how to switch the hot water from the faucet to the shower, so I couldn’t take a shower on the first day. Later, when I asked a front desk staff member, they told me I could turn on the shower by pulling down the ring located below the faucet. When I turned the lever to the right to turn off the hot water, the ring that had been pulled down snapped back into place, and hot water began flowing from the faucet again.

Very clean and quiet. The breakfast actually had a nice selection for being such a small hotel.

Nothing

The room was clean and the front desk staff was upbeat and friendly. The location and price were great.

The pillows were lumpy and the bedding kept shifting. The mattress pad is a flat pad secured with a strap over the corner of the mattress, and it popped off during the night so I was sleeping on bare mattress.

Bed was comfortable and the room was large. Shower pressure was good.

Carpet was badly stained, we were in a dog friendly room. Room was not in great shape. Hotel is older with worn carpet in the hall. We had stayed at 2 other Sleep Inn's and this one was disappointing. Landscape had been removed and building needs upkeep.
