the appartment was very big, clean and comfortable

The breakfast was awful, the first morning the lady serving had a mouthfull of food and was eating what was being served, you couldnt 'see' the hot food that was on offer, bit like queuing up for school dinners, and the food was cold,this put us off and we didnt eat there again. If you want a peaceful time avoid the weekends, as the pool and bar is accessibale by non residents the weekends were full of people eating and swimming around the pool and not clearing up after themselves

Location & nostalgia. I’ve stayed at Gaido’s since I was a kid, and I have grandkids now. 😁 I always request a room that looks out at the Gulf, because I love the view, and I love the sea breeze. If I have time to get to the beach during my stay, it’s an easy walk across the street.

Entrance door to the room was hard to open. It may be swollen from the humidity, but it was a nuisance. Also the shampoo dispenser in the bathroom didn’t work. I think it may have gotten clogged up somehow.

The rooms were quaint and had lots of character

The bathtub definitely needs a non-slip mat. It was very slippery and could easily cause someone to slip and fall, especially a senior. There also need to be grab bars in the tub for added safety. The mattress was sunken in and uncomfortable, and the AC did not work properly. It would shut off in the middle of the night, making it difficult to stay comfortable. Another big downside was allowing smoking outside on the patios. When people in the room next door are smoking, the smoke carries right over and makes it impossible to sit outside and enjoy your own patio. These are definitely areas that could use improvement.
