No frills stay as we were there for one night on our way home from Southern CA. It felt like staying at an aunt and uncle's retro home that has been well-maintained -- I appreciated the small touches like the heat lamp in the bathroom and the TV with working channels (didn't have to log in to our streaming apps). It was quiet with no loud neighbors. The owners were helpful and laid back. Free parking!
The first impression entering the room was that we stepped back in time -- there is some normal wear and tear on the bed shams and furniture and lighting is dim. However, everything works perfectly and is clean/tidy so I consider it good function over form.

We stayed at this motel during our trip south, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place. The staff at reception were excellent, the room was beautiful, and best of all, it had a proper European-style shower. The waterfront promenade is within easy walking distance.
Morro Bay is definitely a place that deserves a stay of at least two nights.
