The Hotel by Gold Dust

The room was very small, the freezer needed, defrosting, no room for the coffee maker except the bathroom sink.

The car parking was hard to get into

This was our 2nd stay at the Gold Dust. The location is perfect for walking around Deadwood! The rooms are clean and comfortable and the cost is at or below average.

Parking can be a bit tricky. It's about a block walk to the parking lot and at the time of our last stay there was construction equipment taking up several parking spaces. Also important to consider if there is an event in town

Location was great and the gal at the front desk checking in was nice

The room and bathroom wasn't cleaned and they couldn't move us, they did come in and clean the disgusting toilet and should have had them clean the whole room but it was late and we were tired. The fridge was completely frosted over so everything we put in there froze. The next morning at 7:15 am our door was opened and thank God we had the upper safety lock latched so the door only opened a couple of inches I did yell and they shut the door. I addressed the front staff and another staff member gave a key to mantinance thinking it was an unoccupied room. They apologized and gave us 2 free meals at mavericks, still was very uneasy the rest of our stay and did have the key card changed. There was a Very unfriendly guy that worked the front desk the remaining time that we were there. We stayed at the suite last year and it was perfect but the hotel was a different story 😌 wasn't fond of the breakfast either !
