Stoney Creek Hotel Kansas City - Independence

Breakfast was fine, but super chaotic. Too many guests and not enough food, coming out in a timely fashion.

To be truthful, I was less bothered by the breakfast situation than I was about the party going on outside of my room. And when I say outside, I mean physically outside of my window in the parking lot. I called the front desk to ask the people to shut it down and was met with “ I’m sorry, people are out there smoking.” I understand that people smoke and that they need to go outside to do so. What I didn’t understand is why the staff couldn’t ask them to quiet it down at 1:30 in the morning. I got up out of my bed after tossing and turning for two hours to look out the window. I found about 25 people standing under the circle driveway canopy just laughing and talking and drinking. There were very few people smoking. I think I finally got to sleep somewhere around 3 AM and had to be up at 7 am. My stay was far from restful otherwise the property in the Service were fine.

Location was beautiful and inspiring. Good experience.

The A/C unit was very quiet, and the mattress was just about perfect. The check in process only took a minute or two & the staff were very nice.

The pillows are so soft I had to stack them. The entrance to the driveway is poorly lit. If you haven't stayed here before it would be a good idea to arrive during daylight.

Quiet location with walking trails. Spacious common areas and good sized rooms.

Sadly, everything needed a thorough deep cleaning. The carpets were filthy and grimy, chairs were stained. Pillows were compressed and hard. Shower had underwhelming water pressure.
