The Inn at Shasta Lake

This is a very easy exit close to I 5. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The best thing is the Indian food they offer for dinner- you have to order ahead of time for them to prepare- trust me it is delicious, and the breakfast is good and healthy - it is set in the woods, you can hear I 5 but it is still quite relaxing- a good stop if you are traveling the I-5 corridor. Clean room with super comfy bed, beautiful shower, everything nice and new, and you can sit outside on porch to eat or whatever. Support this small local establishment @

A verrrry yummy breakfast, beautiful and comfy room (Robin), great clawfoot tub and giant shower, and great location to easily find after the Shasta lake dinner cruise. Right off I-5. They work hard to keep a clean place (no smoking except in your car). And they sent a lot of information about the details ahead of time. They warned about sounds from trains and siding construction, but I never heard any. It was obvious they really cared about the guests being happy.

I personally felt the amount of communication leading up to/on the day of our stay a bit overwhelming. I think that's partly because we used booking.com and so they were reaching out to us personally, but then it would also come through the app. I let them know this and they apologized. I personally didn't know there would be Buddha statues all over (didn't see them in any photos), but there weren't any in our room, which I appreciated. The workers struggled some with English, but we communicated ok.

We arrived at the inn shortly after receiving word that our son was ill. We decided that we needed to return home and not spend the night. A very helpful employee named Jesse greeted us and I explained our situation. I asked if we might rest in a room for an hour before we started our 4 hour drive back home. He called a manager named Max, who apologized that he could not refund the payment for the room, but he approveded our resting there and even offered us a special discount for a future stay. The delightful Jesse, brought us fruit, yogurt and snacks. The room was immaculately clean. The bed VERY comfortable. Plenty of power outlets, a great shower, TV, wifi, everything was up to a very high standard. I've stayed in far worse 4 star hotels that cost five times what we paid here. I woill GLADLY book a stay with them again. (And next time, actually spend the night!)

Quiet and clean

Incomplete information on the room rate, I booked for 3 adults but did not say the room rate was only 2 adults and you have to pay for additional person. that would have been in the property details for booking reservations. This is the first time I experienced this. Everytime I book a reservation, it is always clear if I have to pay for any additional beds or cribs or anything. I only found out when I checked out that there is a fee for additional persons. so disappointing... it does not say at all on the property details and policies.
