Barranquero Hotel

We had a perfect little Jungle retreat at Barranquero Hotel. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable and the owners were super nice. They also have a restaurant onside and we decided to eat there every night because the food was so good.

The location is very remote, which might be challenging for some but didn't bother us at all.

My room was absolutely stunning, and I loved the creative design. Pola is an excellent cook, and I enjoyed the diverse breakfast + trout dinner & passionfruit drink. After I came back from my hike in Tayrona, she let me shower upstairs before my departure. Highly recommend! As others have mentioned, you do have to cross a river. It's easy with flip-flops, and the water feels refreshing on a hot day. If you have a suitcase, you can ask them to give you a quick jeep ride. They are very responsive and accommodating. Some bugs do get inside the room, but it's the jungle. Very immersive experience.

The room was wonderfully large watching the birds was a highlight as was the food

Good breakfast, quiet location and big room

No electricity when I arrived, the road to the property requires a river crossing so it’s a bit difficult to venture elsewhere.
