Broome Park Hotel

The property was stunning, and the lodges we stayed in was comfortable and beautiful.

Fantastic size room with fantastic views across the 18th green at the front and the fields to the rear. Beautiful old building, lots of comfortable chairs in the lobby and bar area to relax in and read a book. Need to book the swimming pool but it was worth it for a warm swim before breakfast. Breakfast offered fruit, cereal, pastries and cooked buffet, all of which was excellent. Would definitely return

A fridge would have been nice considering the size of the rooms. A lot of stairs to reach the top floor rooms, less mobile guests may struggle. Only one brand of Savignon Blanc wine available (Spanish) which wasnt to our taste. Quite a few cobwebs near the windows and ceiling lights/sprinkler.

Our second stay and just as enjoyable, truely lovey service from the lovely well trained staff. Gteat relaxed dinner in the Bar, thank you for room upgrade. What a treat. We will return.

The building appears very grand and the grounds are lovely especially if you are coming for the golf. The lodges are nice and location is convenient for Canterbury and Dover.

In general I feel the place could be so much better than it is - it is just missing a bit of love and care. The restaurant calls itself fine dining - it really isn’t and the website pictures are nothing like the food received!! The restaurant at first glance looks nice but looking closer the carpet is disgusting, wall lights not working, chandelier really dirty and dusty and the place just needs a bit of attention. The server we had didn’t have a clue about the menu. We ate there twice and both meals were quite disappointing. We felt they were a cook rather than a chef. Small Salmon Caesar salad seems easy and yet was over drenched in sauce and Parmesan, huge portion rammed into a small bowl that’s difficult to eat out of. Next night I paid £26 for a chicken supreme which was not at all - it was a plain breast with a bit of pea purée with a ramekin of plain raw red onion, corn and tomato. Poor. Lodges are pretty good, beds and pillows and general observation again just need a bit of attention and could be improved. Overall it was a reasonable stay but due to some of the things mentioned I don’t think I’d stay again or if I did I’d eat out.
