Very comfortable, friendly and helpful, excellent position in a very quant little town with plenty going on . Would definitely return .Good filling breakfast always a good plus.
Nice old building, knocks spots of the new modern hotels.

Comfortable old inn in the centre of Pickering. Very friendly staff and excellent food in the restaurant, with good Yorkshire beer in the bar. The daily specials at dinner sell out quickly. The hotel is very clean and there is ample free parking at the rear. Quite a few of the guests had stayed several times.
Pickering is an interesting old market town, and a good base for the beautiful Yorkshire moors and coast, including Whitby. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs from Pickering to Whitby through scenic countryside.

Good location with easy parking
We had a room with a four poster bed in it. The bed was very very high and only accessed by some highly polished steps . They were very slippery and we found them very difficult to use and impractical to say the least. It spoilt our stay and wouldn’t recommend.
