Location, staff, parking, cat.
We paid over the odds for a tiny room.

Odd arrangement. There was no buffet and everything had to be ordered through the waitress. Food was really excellent and well prepared. Staff were really great and very personable.
Room was pretty compact and a little tired.

Brilliant choice on breakfast menu, large portions, very pleasant breakfast room. Large free car park. Large garden with magnificent chestnut tree - great for afternoon tea.
We're pretty sure we had the worst bedroom (number 15) in the hotel. It was dark, the only window faces a wall. The bathroom was small with only a small ledge round the basin.
