Panvaree Resort

Beautiful location in the heart of the lake, far enough away from the other resorts to feel isolated. The staff were amazing and when we noticed that a pipe on our bungalow needed fixing, they did it straight away. The young tour guide was amazing and made everything comfortable for our stay. The meals were great; they came out as a set menu which was lovely as it was a little surprise every meal time. There were always enough kayaks and the tours were lovely.

Clean, quiet, great tours and things to do

Beautiful location. Breathtaking. Great that you can use kayaks. Food was nice but a fairly steep additional cost.

Room was nice enough. Bathroom quite ‘rustic’ putting it nicely for what is a very expensive stay for Thailand. Not a very premium experience for what is by far our most expensive Thailand stay. It’s by no means ‘bad’ and I appreciate that it will have high running costs, but even with the spectacular view the value for money is questionable.

The location is obviously very nice, the view is great!

The bathroom was not very clean. It was outside of the room (next to it). Everybody could access it, I found our bathroom door open a few times when I am sure we closed it after use. Our terrace was full of hair from probably the previous visitors. It looks like a quiet and peaceful getaway but the restaurant noises are really loud, so is the metal noise whenever someone passes the walking bridge, so we barely got any sleep. The activities which are included never left on time. The first activity was also not great. We were supposed to leave at 5 pm but eventually left at 5:35 pm so it was almost dark and there was not much left to see. Staff seemed very uninterested and careless. They told us to leave our luggage and go sit on the boat to return to the pier, to then forget about our luggage, so my fiancee had to jump of the boat tp go get it, and the noticed other people’s luggage and started loading that as well, whilst the staff was simply watching him… (pic added for proof ;) ) The information about lunch/dinner and activity times was nowhere (I had to actively go to staff and ask). Also the only place after two weeks of Thailand where the food made us visit the toilet a bit more often For the quality we got I might as well just have booked a cheaper option, or even better arranged daytrips in the park instead of staying overnight in a floating cabin…
