Quirky old building and fittings. Central location very handy for station and central area but at enough distance to be calm neighbourhood. Atmospheric surroundings.
Very poor shower in our bathroom that took ages to achieve any kind of heat and even then was a tiny trickle.

My room was fine though a safe and a non-tinted mirror would have been great. The breakfast was quite limited and unenterprising but the staff were lovely and I enjoyed chatting to them.
My room wasn't cleaned one night out of 5. A lift would have been great especially as my room was on the 3rd floor. I didn't like it that there wasn't any fresh fruit available for breakfast.

The quirky oldness, good basic food
We booked room 16 which has a separate bathroom across the hall. Very small bathroom with a DIY feel. Little ventilation in the room. Wooden beds creaked awfully.

Nice period details, quirky with character - a good location
Very basic facilities, a bit down-at-heel and in need of updating
