Hotel Grotta

Beautiful hotel with stunning views from the dining room and rooftop. Service was superb and the breakfast a daily feast. Rooms were comfortable and the location was excellent.

Excellent and friendly staff

The location is perfect. Just a few minutes’ walk from the bustling town centre, so it’s lovely and quiet. A short walk to the ferries, but far enough away not to hear the hustle and bustle. Situated on a small hill with a sea view. A lavish breakfast – far too much choice for us. Plenty of hot dishes and cakes. The bed was very comfortable. We had a lovely, spacious terrace – although it didn’t have a sea view, it was still nice.

The rooms are very, very small. If there are two of you, you really have to coordinate so you don’t get in each other’s way. We couldn’t book the room without breakfast. We don’t need much in the mornings, and the selection at the breakfast buffet was simply far too much for us. We would have preferred to save the cost of breakfast. The breakfast room/dining room was furnished in a rather cold style; it lacked a cosy atmosphere. The lady at reception spoke very good English. Unfortunately, communication with the other staff was difficult. The ladies serving breakfast, unfortunately, didn’t speak a word of English.

Everything but breakfast was amazing
