Fitz Roy Urban Hotel, Bar and Garden

Good location in Maastricht, a hotel with a nice feel and friendly staff. We like the offer of a welcome drink and the lift to our room rather than climbing the winding staircase. Our room was very green and a fair size with some interesting details. We were able to park in a secure lot behind the hotel accessible by a PIN code.

The bed was up against the wall on one side so one of us had to climb over the bed to get out. The air conditioning could had been better and the flashing light was a bit annoying so we put a plaster over it. Everything in Maastricht was more expensive than other towns. £10 ish for a croissant & coffee in the hotel.

Location was great as we have stayed there before. Last time we also had a junior suite which was on the top floor I believe. The breakfast was great and the staff were attentative. We will glady come back just a different room.

The room 011 smelled a bit "musty" I believe the smell came from the drain and the room was not aired out. We left the windows open for a bit but we were on the ground floor with direct access to the street. The smell was constant throughout our stay. It would be great if you could serve breakfast until 11:30. We noticed many people showing up at 11 and then being turned away. It is unfortunate because the restaurant has a great atmosphere. Also we were disappointed that the restaurant was not open for dinner any more. We really enjoyed our experience there last time.

Location was very good. Room was large with lovely widows. We declined breakfast.

Hotel feels tired and outdated. Not at all what we expected from the photos and information provided and for the price we paid. In need of modernising, decorating and new carpets/floor. The lift is quaint but very small and slow.
