We‘ve spent two wonderful weeks with our two year old daughter and our dog. The house is beautifully located in the hills with no direct neighbours. The view is fantastic and we felt immediately at home in this beautiful house. We had a wonderful time and our hosts were just lovely. (We cannot say anything about the pool - except that it is huge - because we were there out of season in March when the pool was closed.)

We stayed for 10 days recently and had a great time, the house was easy to find and the host answered our queries straight away, he also visited the property every other day to water the plants and check that everything was ok. We had a problem with the dishwasher one day and an electrician turned up within 30 minutes. The photos of the house are true to life and the views from the shaded terrace are amazing. The pool was used almost every day and was cleaned regularly usually early before we even got up. Parking is right next to the house so easy access although the drive up is quite steep. Also the nearby town of Castiglion Fiorentino is only about a 10 minutes drive and there are several supermarkets, restaurants and a local train station where you can get to Arezzo or Florence very easily. Couple of good Gelaterias in the local town too. Views from Castiglion are good and also from the castle at Montecchio. The house has thick stone walls and kept it cool apart from on a couple of days when the temperature hit 36 degrees. There are plenty of fans in the house to help with the heat. Couple of things that could be improved on, firstly the pillows as these were really quite firm and not the most comfortable and the other is the lack of a shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom which meant that the bath mats were continuously soaked. TV with Netflix and Wi-Fi all worked really well. Mosquitoes are everywhere in Italy so make sure you pack repellent!

Pros: Location Excellent pool Fantastic views Cons: Very, very outdated kitchen. Limited privacy due to people staying in outbuildings some of the time. A (not unfriendly) cat that's fed at the property and it seems to be assumed that guests will do this. There's a strong smell of cats in the kitchen and the area immediately outside it. Doors can't be left open to ventilate the property when using the pool as the cat may get inside. No consumables apart from toilet roll and cat food: not so much as a dish cloth or drop of washing-up liquid to get you through to the first visit to the shops.
