Beautiful lodge n location. Carlos our host was super friendly n helpful n he organised everything for us . From picking us fr train to arranging tour n meals n activities

Was very cold in the night, Heater for the room was gas heater - not warm enough

Very outstanding to stay over night on the floating island. The hosts are very friendly, take care of you and deliver delicious food. Considering that you stay on a floating island the comfort is surprisingly good. There is a nice shower with hot water, plenty of space and the hosts give you a bottle with hot water to warm your bed. Please mind: At night it is quite cold at 3500 m above sea level. Very nice are the outside beds to chill at daytine and to enjoy the view over the lake. When visiting lake Titicaca and the Uros community than staying here on the floating island is a must for explorers and those who enjoy the outstanding.

The location of the lodge was lovely & the beds were comfortable. It gets very cold at night (our water froze so nothing out of taps in the morning until a generator was used to unfreeze), but the beds are laden with blankets & the hot water bottle that is supplied is amazing at how well it works. There was a smallish gas heater in our room that when requested was turned on early evening, but had to be turned off, for safety reasons, before going to bed. The room we had was spacious & comfortable, but not what was shown in the online photos & what we had booked. On arrival we were taken to a room that was not suitable (looked like it was still under partial construction on the outside), so we were able to get another room. We fortunately had a eSIM so could access wifi & the translater app, as Carlos, who does most of the organising was not present during the day & is the only English speaker. It would have been tricky without the eSIM. Breakfast was basic but did the job. More fresh fruit & less packaged cake would have been preferable. A thermos of hot water for tea or coffee was readily available. Bring your own snacks, books, cards or games. Sitting on the deck in the sunshine was lovely & it was remarkable how warm the room became when the sun was out. The sunset was beautiful & the stars at night are amazing. Despite a language barrier the family were lovely & accommodating.

Whether it was due to the language barrier or not, we felt there was a lack of communication. We had to continually contact Carlos via WhatsApp to ask questions. A written information sheet left in the room detailing what could go wrong, how local tours are operated, how to order meals or even what dinner options were available etc would go along way. Our dinner meals were tasty (chicken fillet, potato, rice & a few veg x 2 nights). We had requested fish but not aware this had to be ordered the day before. All our meals arrived luke warm (the vegetables actually stone cold), which isn’t a huge issue, but something to be aware of. There are electrical power points but these do not work. Not all lights worked but Carlos was very kind & lent us a head torch, so I could read at night in bed. Phones, iPads etc can be charged. Carlos was also able to charge a battery I require for a portable cpap machine, when there is no electricity. There’s a little rubbish lying around the property that’s not very appealing (plastic bottles etc amongst the reeds) There is a 5% charge if paying by card.

Abbiamo apprezzato l'esperienza di stare una notte isolati in mezzo al lago. La vista magnifica dalla struttura, il tramonto e le stelle che si vedono la notte. Carlitos ci ha intrattenuti durante le ore di cena. Molto apprezzata la colazione.

L'acqua dei rubinetti e del wc inutilizzabili di notte fino a tarda mattinata perché l'acqua si congela. È vero che sotto le coperte si sta molto bene ma le camere, specialmente quelle più grandi, erano un congelatore. Non c'era nessuno a farci il check-in al nostro arrivo. La cena totalmente da rivedere visto che non si hanno alternative.
